Bassie Maluleka is a South African-born Commercial and Fashion photographer now based in Melbourne, Australia . With industry experience of over five years, Bassie is skilled in shooting fashion editorials and commercial campaigns. As a devoted, passionate, queer, and colourful creative, she draws inspiration from real life experiences and shines a light on some of the social issues surrounding African women and women across the board.
She takes on projects with a huge sense of respect for the work, the subjects, as well as the team she is assigned. Her focus on producing the best body of work for each project, is what makes her a successful photographer.
With some of her proudest career highlights being selected as one of the young emerging creatives at the Design Indaba in 2020, shooting a 'Ready to work' Campaign with ABSA Bank, an international Puma campaign with Nomzamo Mbatha, shooting a collaboration with Dazed Magazine x Nike Shapa and recently getting her work published on Photo Vogue for most of her passion projects. She is a Lampost Lumineer, which has seen her collaborate with like-minded women photographers, to create projects that showcase their conceptual thinking, relatable values, as well as passions.
